Senshinryo is located in the historical sacred and nature rich region, Ishiyama, which is in the south part of Shiga.
Senshinryo opened in 1927 in front of the Seta River and Ishiyamadera-temple, which is a historically famous temple in Japan.
We provide you with a great experience where you can enjoy not only the food but also the Japanese tradition and nature.

We have three types of area.

The first area is the restaurant. The first floor is for individual customers. It accommodates about 100 people and you can enjoy your meal while overlooking the great river.

The second floor is for large parties. There are several private rooms in various sizes can accommodate 16-200 people. All the rooms are in Japanese style with table seats.

In addition, we also serve Japanese cuisine. Our dishes are made from fresh ingredient harvested in Shiga, such as fresh shijimi clams, yuba (made from the skin of gently boiled soybean milk), and one of the best Japanese beef (Omi Gyu) and so on.

The second floor is a souvenir shop, which is one of the largest in the area. We have many local specialities such as potteries and sake.

The third area is outdoor cafe. You can have light meal and drinks in traditional atmosphere.

When you take a taxi from JR Ishiyama station, Please tell the driver ”I want to go to Sensinryo”.

    Change from JR line to Keihan line at Ishiyama station on the JR Biwako line and get off at Ishiyamadera station on the Keihan line.
    It takes about 10 minutes from Ishiyamadera station on foot.

    Get on Keihan bus number 1,2,4,50,52-55 at Ishiyama station on the JR Biwako line and get off the bus at Ishiyamadera-sanmon-mae (5th stop).
    Walk 200m from the bus stop.
